Today is the first time I visit a mosque. I found out that, as a woman, I was supposed to wear a head scarf to go into the mosque. But they let me in anyway. Inside the mosque, there is a separate section for women to pray, which is completely covered so that no one can see what is inside. However, even inside that separate section for women, women are still supposed to wear head scarf to pray. A woman lent me a head scarf for me to take part in the prayer.

There is nothing for beginners who speak English. Most books are in Arabic. The only one I found that has English was not for beginners. I could not find any written materials to learn what I was supposed to do in there and how to pray. I learned from other women in there. There were actually only two other women. There were way more men than women. There might have been thirty to fifty men.

The preacher did not speak English. I could not understand anything he said.

However, I liked being there. It was quiet. And it was a large open space that was covered with clean carpets. It was very relaxing.
